Mark Viviano: Breaking Down State Of The Ravens

Mark Viviano with WJZ-13 joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to break down today's "State Of The Ravens" press conference.

It was a very disappointing season for the Ravens in 2015. Owner Steve Bisciotti, GM Ozzie Newsome, head coach John Harbaugh and President Dick Cass held a press conference to address the issues in Baltimore. Mark talked about the fact that the press conference wasn't as fans expected. "I think coming off a 5-11 season there probably was a general expectation that the owner who speaks in a press conference setting just once a year would come out with some fire and brimstone...that this is unacceptable. Contrary to that it was more of a 'we understand what we have here; we understand what went wrong and we're staying the course.'"

The Colts have hired former Ravens linebackers coach Ted Monachino as their defensive coordinator. Besides Ted, John Harbaugh said in the press conference that there will be no coaching staff changes for the Ravens from here on out. Mark talked about despite what Harbaugh said, there is always a possibility for change, "There are still some significant changes that can and probably will be made in terms of the coaching staff. I think they're just starting to dig into it. I don't think we can leave what was said today at face value and say 'well that's just it' because as you know this is an ongoing process. As coaching staffs are fired and coaching staffs are shaken up around the league there may be some guys that free up that they want. There may be guys that they have that will leave. So that's a moving target; I wouldn't say we're all good there."
