Chris Davis Happy To Be Coming Back To Baltimore
Oriole Chris Davis was on with Vinny & Rob to talk about the free-agent process and what it took to finally sign with the Orioles again.
Davis goes over how he was feeling from the time the Orioles announced the first offer to the day he signed the contract. "The business side of the game can be so ugly sometimes, but the baseball side and the relationships and interactions with the fans, that's the most beautiful thing."
So what helped Chris seal the deal? Well, Davis said when Peter Angelos chimed in and said he wanted him back and the large sum contract was strictly for Chris Davis, that was it. "Anytime the owner steps forward and openly says he wants you back you feel wanted. The guy who holds the teams future in his hands says he appreciates the kind of person I am and how I relate to the fans and that meant a lot."
He continued, "This is where i want to be. This is where my family wants to be. We're invested in the city. We love the people of Baltimore. We love playing for the orioles and everything that entails."
Overall, at the end of the process, Chris Davis said he wanted to jump on top of Dan Duquette's shoulders and say, "Yahhhh!"
