On Saturday, Blacksburg Police Lt. Mike Albert announced the arrest of 18-year-old David Eisenhauer after new developments were made in the case.

Eisenhauer, who's from Columbia , Maryland, was a freshman at Virginia Tech, majoring in engineering.

He was initially charged with felony abduction, but late Saturday night police charged him with first degree murder after Lovell's body was found in North Carolina.

"It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that we have located the remains of 13-year-old Nichole Lovell, said Blacksburg Police Chief Anthony Wilson. "As investigators progressed through the afternoon we were able to determine an approximate area where she might be found. Virginia State Police were dispatched to that approximate area around 4:00 p.m. and she was located just inside the North Carolina border."

Eisenhauer's neighbors tell WJZ the teen was a "very good and quiet kid" and that the recent news was shocking to hear.

According to our media partner The Baltimore Sun, Eisenhauer is a former high school track star in Howard County's and a top runner with Wilde Lake in 2014 and 2015. He was named the Howard County indoor track Athlete of the Year in 2015.

On Sunday afternoon police announced a second arrest in Lovell's death, charging 19-year-old Natalie Keepers, of Laurel, Md., with improper disposal of a body and accessory after the fact in the commission of a felony.

Eisenhauer and Lovell were allegedly acquainted prior to her disappearance. Police say Eisenhauer used his relationship to his advantage to abduct the 13-year-old and then kill her.

Police believe Keepers helped Eisenhaur dispose of Nicole's body.

Both Eisenhauer and Keepers remain in the Montgomery County Jail in Virginia without bond.

"The entire Virginia Tech community extends its support to Nicole's family and friends," said Virginia Tech in a statement.

Police say this is still an active investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Blacksburg Police Department at (540) 961-1150.
