Kerry Miller: "Terps Could Win It All"
Kerry Miller with Bleacher Report joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about the NCAA's top contenders for March's tournament.
The Maryland Terrapins are currently the second ranked team in the country and are coming off an easy 93-62 win over Bowie State University. Scott Garceau asked Kerry for his outside opinion on the Terps, "I think they're great. I expected them to be one of the best teams in the country; they are exactly that. They were my preseason pick to win it all and I don't see any real reason to change that. I'm loving Oklahoma but I'm still thinking Maryland is definitely a final four team that could absolutely win it all. They're strong at all five positions and they've got depth all over the court."
Later in the interview Scott asked Kerry what he thinks Maryland would need to do to earn a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. "They pretty much have to win out. Obviously, they look really good. They're number two in the nation. They've played extremely well and they don't have any bad losses but the schedule didn't really help them out. They haven't had any marquee wins or any great wins away from home and that's such a huge deal when you're looking at #1 seeds but if they are able to win out and get a little help from Iowa losing at least one game so they can play for first place in the Big Ten for the regular season, that would really help."
