Fifth-ranked Maryland looks to bounce back from its most disappointing loss of the season when it hosts Michigan on Sunday. The Terrapins' hopes of securing their first Big Ten title since joining the conference in 2014-15 took a major blow following a shocking 68-63 defeat to lowly Minnesota, which left them one game behind No. 21 Indiana and sixth-ranked Iowa with four contests remaining.

Maryland has suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in two years and hopes to turn its fortunes around by securing its 15th home win of the season. Michigan looks to move back into the win column and solidify its NCAA Tournament resume after a 76-66 loss to Ohio State. The Wolverines are likely one win away from locking up a berth in the NCAA Tournament but will have to make do without the services of leading scorer Caris LeVert, who has missed 12 of the last 13 games with a lower leg injury, and could be shut down for the rest of the season. "He's in slighter pain every day, and unless there's a miracle we're going to plan on him not practicing or playing against Maryland," Michigan coach John Beilein told reporters. "There will be a time soon where we may have to just shut it down."

ABOUT MICHIGAN (19-8, 9-5 Big Ten): Mark Donnal led the Wolverines with 17 points and seven rebounds while Zak Irvin added 15 points in the loss to Ohio State to become the 50th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. Derrick Walton Jr. struggled with his outside shot as he went 1-of-7 from 3-point range but shot 4-of-7 from inside the arc en route to 13 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists against the Buckeyes. Duncan Robinson had another quiet outing as he was limited to just three points on 1-of-6 shooting and has been held to seven combined points in his last two games.

ABOUT MARYLAND (22-5, 10-4 Big Ten): Rasheed Sulaimon poured in a career-high 28 points, but Melo Trimble and Robert Carter Jr. shot a combined 6-of-23 from the floor in the setback to Minnesota. "This is the first real adversity that we've had," Sulaimon told reporters. "We have to get our continuity back and our chemistry back." Freshman centre Diamond Stone will return to the lineup after serving a team-imposed one-game suspension for his flagrant foul on Vitto Brown in the 70-57 loss to Wisconsin on Feb. 13.

TIP-INS

1. Maryland has won 27 of its last 28 home games.

2. Trimble is 6-for-37 from the floor in his last three Big Ten games.

3. Michigan is ranked ninth nationally in 3-pointers per game (10.1) heading into Saturday's action.

PREDICTION: Maryland 76, Michigan 64
