Bye Bye Orioles Pie: Popular Post-Game Tradition Could Be Getting Sliced!

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--A popular Orioles tradition could be getting sliced!

Citing safety concerns, Adam Jones' famous pies could be done.

It's a move O's fans say is un-appetizing.

Jessica Kartalija has more.

Great game? You get a pie, hand delivered by the star center fielder Adam Jones.

But now, the popular Orioles tradition could be getting smashed.

Mary Wortman, owner of Dangerously Delicious, supplies the pies and says, "Baltimore has been rallying around this, they want this its something they look forward to."

But the birds plan to ban the pies.

Adam Jones tweeting, "It's no one's fault. It's just about safety. At the end of the day it can be dangerous so we're being smart."

But fans say there's nothing sweet about this.

"I think the players look forward to it as well because they know they had a good game," said Rodney Henry.

"You have got to be kidding me," Candy writes on Facebook.  "My family loves this and you can tell the players do as well!"

"That's terrible, awful," says Phil. "Put on some safety gear for crying out loud."

At this point, the team isn't talking but Mary wants to keep cooking.

"I hope we get to stay.  I want to take it all the way to the World Series," Wortman laughs.

Dangerously Delicious says they offered to supply the Orioles with cream pies after players started getting shaving cream in their eyes.
