Eric Weddle Is Committed To Winning With The Ravens

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A nine-year NFL veteran, Weddle had spent his entire career playing for the San Diego Chargers, but now he's found a home with the Baltimore Ravens.

A clean shaven Weddle joined Harbaugh for a press conference to welcome him to Baltimore. "Eric's going to make our team better in so many different ways," said Harbaugh.

Weddle started by saying, "I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of something special, to be a a part of team committed to winning, to toughness...I can't wait to get started, to meet my teammates, to get to work and hopefully bring a championship here." He continued, "I can't wait to put on that black and purple. My favorite color is black. My wife's favorite color is purple. It's meant to be!"

When asked about the primary things he was looking for in committing to Baltimore, he said, "I've played in San Diego for nine years and have played against [The Ravens] many times....I felt that Baltimore would give me a family. The culture, the business like atmosphere, the toughness, the defense. When you think of Baltimore, you think of football (that and the Orioles). This is what I want. I've always wanted it. It's an honor and a privilege that Coach Harbaugh wanted me just as much."
