95 Food Vendors To Be Featured At EmporiYUM Food Market

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--For Charm City foodies it's the weekend you've been waiting for.

Emporium is back in Baltimore and local businesses are getting ready for the rush.

Jessica Kartalija explains.

At Corner Pantry on Falls Road, owner and chef Neill Howell is hard at work getting ready for this year's EmporiYUM

"It's a hybrid between a food marketplace and food festival," said Mindy Schapiro, Co-founder of the EmporiYUM.  "We will have 95 food vendors at the event and you can come in and sample and purchase food from vendors from all over the country."

Mindy Schapiro came up with the concept inviting regional businesses like Gordy's Pickle Jar and the Corner Pantry to participate

"I'm new to Baltimore so the best thing for me personally is to get my name out there and the Corner Pantry, so more people the better," said Corner Pantry Chef Neill Howell.

It's cross promotion for boutique brands and a huge draw for Baltimore foodies.

"Normally you'd buy a product in a store or online and you don't get to talk to the vender who makes this product, that's what's really special about this event," Schapiro says.

Chef Neill is selling their famous doughnuts which he says has a great honey marshmallow filling with a smores and chocolate glaze inside.

It's the 3rd time the EmporiYUM has come to Charm City.

It's a sweet way to celebrate good food and friends.

In addition to the spring EmporiYUM, there's a fall event in Washington, D.C.

You can check out the  The EmporiYUM Baltimore on April 16 and 17 located in the 600 block of E. Pratt Street.
