Mitchell Courthouse To Stay Closed Through Next Week

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Mitchell Courthouse in Baltimore will remain closed through next week following an electrical fire.

The fire broke out Tuesday in the basement on the 100-block of N. Calvert Street.

The courthouse isn't expected to reopen until Monday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m.

In the meantime, court proceedings and services will be moved to the Courthouse East building located across the street at 111 N. Calvert Street.

Jurors serving in ongoing trials must report as instructed by the trial judge. Those notified to appear for trials next week should report to the War Memorial Building at 101 N. Gay Street.
