Howard County Police Looking For Tips In 'Intentional' Hit-and-Run

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating a black sedan, possibly a Ford, that appeared to intentionally strike a man on the shoulder of the ramp onto Route 32 from Route 1 around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police were called to the scene after a 47-year-old man reported that he had been involved in a minor collision on Route 1 at Corridor Road in Savage.

The man told police that both cars pulled onto the shoulder of the ramp toward eastbound Route 32.

When he exited his vehicle and began walking toward the sedan to exchange information with the driver, the sedan suddenly accelerated in reverse, striking him, and then drove away, he said.

The victim was taken to Howard County General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his head and leg.

Police located a piece of a black fender at the scene and believe the suspect vehicle likely has extensive damage to its right-rear fender.

Anyone who spots a black sedan, particularly a Ford, with significant right-rear fender damage should call 911 with a location and license plate number, if possible.

Anyone with general information about a damaged black sedan should call police at 410-313-3700.
