Jeremy Conn: Orioles Look 'Pretty Darn Good' At Quarter Pole

We are almost a quarter of the way through the season and the Orioles statistically have the best record in the American League. They also have the best record at home throughout all of baseball.  We have the best bullpen in the American League and surprising enough, the starting pitching has held up.

Tillman is 5-1 with a sub 3 ERA and Gausman has an ERA right at 3 and a WHIP just over 1, which is pretty darn good. Ubaldo has continued to be a "box of chocolates," but our young guys have held up thus far. Wilson and Wright have been very solid for the ball club.

Machado has looked like the best player in the American League and has finally thrust himself into the conversation with the likes of Harper and Trout.  Joey Rickard has been a huge pleasant surprise! A Rule 5 pick that can come in and bat lead off and play all three outfield positions...I think every team would take that player. Mark Trumbo has shown some serious power and we haven't even seen a sunny day in Baltimore, imagine what he will do when it heats up! Adam Jones and Jonathon Schoop's bats have started to heat up.

I think the sky is the limit for the offense, but I am a little worried about the pitching over the long haul.  There really is no way of knowing whether or not Wilson, Wright and even Ubaldo will hold up for the whole season. Gallardo will hopefully be back soon, but we still don't know how he will look after coming back from his injury.

As a fan you have to be excited with how they are playing right now, it will be interesting to see how we look at the midway point.
