BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Social media went into a frenzy on Tuesday after an apparent hack of NFL’s Twitter account indicated that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had died.

Tweets read: “We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP.”

But the tweet was quickly deleted.

Additional tweets followed by the alleged hackers:

“Oi, I said Roger Goodell has died. Don’t delete that tweet.”

“OK, OK, you amateur detectives win good job.”



According to ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Goodell is alive and working today.
