Tony Massenburg & Lefty Driesell Remember Len Bias
Leonard Kevin "Len" Bias was a first-team All-American college basketball forward at the University of Maryland.
Norris and Davis spoke with Tony Massenburg and Lefty Driesell on the 30th anniversary of Len Bias' death.
Bias died of a cocaine overdose just two days after becoming the No. 2 player taken in the NBA draft.
Tony Massenburg On The NBA Finals And Len Bias:
"At the end of the day he didn't set out to take his life. I've just never understood why we've lost so many great American icons to drug use and we're still losing people. He lost his life...and paid the ultimate price, but his legacy should stand for what it stood for which was of a guy who truly laid it out on the basketball court and who was a good human being to the people around him."
Lefty Driesell Remembers Len Bias: "He was a great young man and a great credit to Maryland and I miss him. He wasn't just a great player, he was a great athlete...He never took a day off. I used to have to take him out of practice because he would get every point and block every shot."
