WEATHER BLOG: Rain Possible On The 4th

The current weather map shows a weak area of high pressure from Michigan, stretched southeast into northern Virginia this afternoon. This high will be shifting north and east through tomorrow allowing a more moisture-laden air mass to move in. Although skies have been cloudy most of the day (with the exception of a few peaks of sunshine here and there) the weather hasn't really gotten in the way of any outdoor plans this Sunday. That will be a different story tomorrow. The batch of rain and thunderstorms across the Ohio Valley and southern Midwest will be our main focus through Tuesday AM. Periods of rain will be possible on Independence Day and the rain may be locally heavy at times tomorrow and tomorrow night. While there should be some breaks in the rain tomorrow, it is the best idea to have an indoor plan in place for any July 4th festivities.
