Man Dies In Brooklyn Park Rowhome Fire

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man is dead following a two-alarm fire at his Brooklyn Park home Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the Brookwood Road rowhouse blaze around 4:35 a.m.

After entering, they found the man on the second floor and removed him from the house. They determined that he was in cardiac arrested, and paramedics made unsuccessful efforts to resuscitate him. He was declared dead.

One firefighter was also injured during the search for the man, after falling through the floor of the second level.

His injuries are not life threatening, but he was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

It took 60 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore and BWI airport to bring the fire under control, which took about 20 minutes.

There was slight damage to three other surrounding homes.
