Laurel Police Officer Rescues Possum Babies After Mom Was Hit By Car

LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) -- An officer with the Laurel Police Department came to the rescue while responding to a call of an animal hit by a car.

According to the Second Chance Wildlife Center in Gaithersburg, Officer Kropff found a dead mother opossum and 13 live babies.

He transported the babies to Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, who in turn took them to the wildlife center.

They posted a video of the joeys to their Facebook page Wednesday.
