Ray Rice Pledges To Donate His Salary If Signed By The NFL

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Former Baltimore Raven Ray Rice knows his window of opportunity for playing football is closing in quickly, and he just wants a chance to play again. Ray Rice has been out of football since September of 2014 after a video surfaced of him and then fiance Janay fighting in a casino elevator.

He recently told USA TODAY Sports that if signed, he would donate his entire salary in 2016 to organizations with programs focusing on education and prevention of domestic violence and supporting survivors and their families.

"Me donating my salary is something that'll be from the heart for me. I only want to play football so I can end it the right way for my kids and for the people that really believed in me. But I know there's a lot of people affected by domestic violence, and every dollar helps. It's raising awareness," said Rice.

Rice and his wife, Janay Rice, have since been married and their second child is due in September. He last played in 2013, when he battled injury and averaged a career-low 3.1 yards on 214 carries.

Training camps begin next week and Rice remains unemployed. Will a team in the NFL step up and join the cause?
