Report: Bieber Spurned $5M Offer To Perform At GOP Convention
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Justin Bieber was offered as much as $5 million to perform at a Republican event near the GOP Convention in Cleveland, but spurned it on the advice of his LeBron James and his manager, according to a report from the tabloid website TMZ.
A promoter who reached out to Bieber's representatives at the Creative Artists Agency wanted the pop star to play for 45 minutes at a venue near where the convention was held at Quicken Loans Arena, but he would not have to endorse GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, sources with knowledge of the offer told TMZ.
The performance would have been paid in full in advance of the event, which would have marked the single biggest payday of his career, according to the website, which reports Bieber was giving the offer serious thought before manager Scooter Braun, who's backing Hillary Clinton, objected to it.
Ultimately, TMZ reports, Bieber caved to the desires of Braun and those of LeBron James, whom he had initially been told would also be making an appearance at the event.
