Michael Phelps won his 21st career Olympic gold medal on Tuesday night, aided by Ryan Lochte in the 4x200m freestyle relay.

The American men won the 800 free relay for the fourth consecutive Olympics, the longest winning streak in that race since the Americans won five straight from 1960-1976.

However, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte will battle each other for gold in Thursday night’s 200-meter individual medley final in what’s likely the last chapter of the greatest rivalry in the history of swimming and perhaps in all of Olympic sports.
