Brittany Ghiroli On Orioles Pitching: 'I Don't Think Matt Wieters Is The Problem'

Brittany Ghiroli joined Norris and Long to share some observations from the Orioles win over the San Francisco Giants.

Jonthan Schoop brought the Orioles back to life during the game and to that Brittany says, "he's probably one of the most clutch hitters on the team."

Zach Britton is also continuing to impress as he has been a solid closer time and time again and came away with his 37th save last night against the Giants as the Orioles came back to win 8-7. Kevin Gausman however is still struggling.

Brittany Ghiroli shares her thoughts on Gausman's current situation: "It's just a matter of him being a young guy...he's got some maturing to do still. He's shown flashes of being that guy, being reliable and dependable, and then he's had some pretty bad starts. So I think that he's certainly become a guy who they think can eventually be that top-of-the-rotation guys, but there's still going to be some growing pains. There's still room for him to get better."

Ghiroli continues to say there's also no reason to blame Matt Wieters or to say he's the problem with the way pitching is going. She says, "it's a long season. They're going to have ups and downs. Teams that win the division look horrible for weeks at a time, that's just how it goes."
