Police Charge Man In Death of 7-year-old Following Crash In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore Police have charged a man with manslaughter following the death of a 7-year-old boy in Baltimore.

Police say back on June 11, 2016 they responded to a crash at York Road and Woodbourned Ave.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers only found the victim's mother inside the car.

Authorities later learned that 7-year-old Nedeljko Williams and the mother's boyfriend, Rodney Blake Jr. were both in the car, but fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigators say Blake Jr. had stolen the vehicle that had been crashed.

Hours after the June 11th crash, police responded to the a residence in the 3900 block of Clarks Lane where they found the 7-year-old victim not breathing.

Nedeljko was transported to Sinai Hospital  where he later died.  The medical examiner ruled that Nedeljko Williams' death was caused by blunt force trauma. An autopsy showed that the child suffered a laceration to the small intestine, which ultimately caused his death.

On August 11, 2016 Blake  arrested and charged with manslaughter as a result of this investigation.  Blake is now at Central Booking and is being held on a $100,000 bail.
