Flying Dog Teams Up With Salazon to Create Pumpkin Beer Chocolate

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Maryland-based Flying Dog has teamed up with a local company to make pumpkin beer chocolate!

Flying Dog says their "The Gourd Standard Pumpkin IPA" is being mixed with Salazon Chocolate Co.'s chocolate to create a 72% organic dark chocolate Pumpkin Beer bar.

"We view craft beer as an art form and jump on the opportunity to work with likeminded artisans," Ben Savage, Flying Dog's chief marketing officer, said. "Creativity and commitment to the craft is something Salazon shares with us, and it yielded delicious results."

Salazon Chocolate Co.--also based out of Maryland—says they incorporated actual ingredients from the beer into the chocolate.

"We've all seen chocolate paired with wine, but it actually pairs just as well with craft beer," Pete Truby, founder of Salazon Chocolate Co. said. "And we couldn't be more thrilled to partner with one of the leaders in creative craft brewing, Flying Dog, which is also based in Maryland."
