Officials to Discuss Preserving Ellicott City's Main Street

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Howard County officials will be talking about preservation efforts on Ellicott City's Main Street after last month's flooding.

Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman is scheduled to hold a news conference on Tuesday in Ellicott City.

Officials will talk about the county's commitment to preserving the county seat's rich heritage and history during the ongoing recovery effort.

Kittleman will be joined by representatives of Preservation Maryland who will discuss their role in providing technical assistance to property owners during the rebuilding phase of Main Street.

Flooding from a July 30 storm killed two people and devastated the historic district in Ellicott City, a town about 14 miles west of Baltimore.
