Jim Duquette On The Orioles & The Close AL Playoff Race

Since MLB moved to the current format of two leagues, three divisions, back in 1994, there hasn't been a race this close. Former Orioles GM Jim Duquette joined Ed and Rob to discuss the exciting wild card race.

The race for the playoffs have never been closer. With fewer than 20 games left on the schedule, which team has the best chances?

"The fact that the Orioles went on the road and took two of three from one of the teams that's chasing them, at this time of the year, those wins weigh more. I'm a big believe in momentum in September, especially down the stretch. But because the division is so tough, and because you have so many games within the east, it could all change within a week or so. I think that if the Orioles can pull this one out and win two or three at Fenway Park, it will give them a leg up," said Duquette.

The Baltimore Orioles are currently two games behind the Boston Red Sox and tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for second. But the Yankees are just two games behind the Orioles too. It's a close one for sure.
