Perry Hall Water Main Break Affects Traffic On E. Joppa Road

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 12-inch water main break is causing headaches for those who live and work in Perry Hall.

It happened in the 4100 block of East Joppa Road near Bel Air Road, causing a sinkhole in the westbound lanes and shutting down traffic in the area.

Twenty businesses nearby are being affected.

The road was closed  through this evening as repairs continues, according to the Department of Public Works.

Officials say the work should be completed by the morning rush hour.
