FBI Searching for "The Aviator" After Three Bank Robberies
BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)-- The FBI needs the public's help identifying a serial bank robber nicknamed "The Aviator" following three robberies in the area.
Police say the suspect walks in talking on his cell phone, approaches the counter, hands the bank teller a note announcing an armed robbery and demands money. After receiving the money, he flees the scene on foot.
The suspect has robbed:
- Wells Fargo Bank, located at 1643 Merritt Blvd in Dundalk on September 1
- BB&T Bank located at 5439 Harford Road in Baltimore on September 9
- Wells Fargo Bank located at 7639 Harford Rd, also in Baltimore on September 20
Witnesses describe him as a black man in his 40's, about 5'9" tall and has a salt and pepper beard. He wears a baseball cap, a long-sleeved shirt with a hooded sweatshirt and aviator sunglasses.
If anyone has any information about the robber or robberies, you are asked to call the Baltimore FBI at 410-265-8080. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest in this case.
