Orioles' Gift To Big Papi Rings True To His Camden Yards Legacy

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- To mark David Ortiz's final regular-season game in Baltimore, the Orioles presented the Red Sox designated hitter with a fairly memorable gift.

In a pregame ceremony recognizing Ortiz's retirement, Orioles center fielder Adam Jones presented Big Papi with the remains of the phone he smashed in the dugout during his temper tantrum on July 27, 2013, at Orioles Park at Camden Yards.

Ortiz seemed amused with the gift, but wasn't as excited when the video of the famed tantrum appeared on the scoreboards at Camden Yards.

He destroyed the phone after disagreeing with umpire Tim Timmons over two called strikes. He was ultimately fined $5,000.

Ortiz has eight home runs against them this season and 30 in his career at Camden Yards, second most by any visiting player in the history of the ballpark.

The Orioles also made a $10,000 donation in Ortiz's name to the World Pediatric Project to help critically ill children in the Dominican Republic.
