Man Pleads Guilty In Sniper-Style Slaying Of Ex-Girlfriend

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A western Maryland man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the sniper-style slaying of his former girlfriend.

Thirty-year-old Shaun Frazier of Sharpsburg entered the plea Friday in Hagerstown. He acknowledged shooting 24-year-old Lena Titus with a rifle from a second-story window as she pulled into the driveway of his home to retrieve her belongings in May 2015.

In return for his plea, prosecutors agreed not to seek a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. Frazier still faces the possibility of life in prison. Sentencing hasn't been scheduled.

Frazier said he's been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder, but that he is not currently prescribed any medication.

Washington County Circuit Judge Kenneth Long says a psychological examination concluded Frazier was competent to stand trial.
