BALTIMORE (WJZ) — After Donald Trump was proclaimed the winner of the 2016 presidential election, there have been peaceful protests sprouting up in pockets across the country.

Now, an online petition has been started asking the electoral college to, when they meet on December 19, withhold their support for Trump, something granted to them in the Constitution.

The foundation for the petition is the fact that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, something that Trump himself has complained about in the past.

Here’s an excerpt from the petition:

“We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.”

In 2012 after Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney, Trump tweeted on the matter: “He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!” The tweet has since been deleted.

As of 3 p.m. EST on Thursday, November 10, the petition has more than 650,000 signatures.

That puts it just north of halfway of the 1 million goal.

I don’t believe for a second that Hillary actually won the popular vote. She supposedly has roughly 300,000 more actual votes that Trump. With all of the ballot stuffing, people being bussed around to vote multiple times in poor cities, illegal immigrants voting, dead people voting, and the coup de grace voter machine fraud and fractionating of votes from those machines at the central site (which I’m sure the Hillary people were counting on for the big win). No, I’m going to bet that Trump DID win the popular vote, and as Bev Harris of Black Box Voting said, there are districts that refused to do an audit even though the closeness of the numbers says they should. Trump overcame all of that fraud with a landslide.

  2. First off she did not win anything let alone the popular vote….when they called 279 for Trump when PA finally called their votes, they did not factor in Michigan and AZ to his totals which would have pushed the popular vote for Trump over 62 million which would have been 2 million above hers….Let alone his electoral well over 300, and there is no secret meeting in December the election is over Trump won!!!!! By a Landslide electoral and popular!!!!

There are four instances in our history where the electoral winner lost the popular vote, which is a really good average considering how many presidential elections we’ve had. To suddenly upend that when we don’t like the result would set a bad precedent, aside from being a relatively undemocratic thing to do when viewed in the light of the system we do have in place. Personally, I am disappointed that Trump won, but as Americans we have the responsibility to come behind the victor, a peaceful transfer of power, and if he does anything in office that doesn’t pass muster, then he can be impeached. Republicans raised hell about Obama’s election and basically refused to work with him; Democrats need to show that they’re above that and at least give him the benefit of the doubt before discounting anything he may or may not do based merely on his election to office.

  4. Come onnnn He didnt win by a landslide lolsmh Congrats on your win, just dont complain when all the wars begin..and when soldiers die dont blame Hillary or Obama this time…
