Black Friday Frenzy At The Towson Mall

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The holiday shopping season officially begins. Crowds of shoppers were up early, on the lookout for Black Friday discounts at their favorite retailers.

There are crowds in nearly every store on Black Friday, but it's expected to get busier as the day goes on. Thousands are hoping to save a few bucks and get their shopping done early.

Black Friday is in full effect at Towson Town Center, shoppers are on the lookout for that perfect present, at the perfect price.

Overall, sales are expected to be better this year, up at about 4 percent.

Stores are slashing prices to get you in the door instead of shopping online, where people spend about half of their holiday budgets.

"It's all about the deals and the discounts. So we really rely on our retailers to promote what they are offering for Black Friday and beyond," said Lisa Bisenius, senior general manager at Towson Town Center.

Bisenius says you'd be hard pressed to find a store that is not offering a special deal. Good news for consumers who are getting their Black Friday shopping done all under one roof.

Bisenius tells WJZ that they expect it to get a lot busier between noon and 3 p.m., when lots of shoppers who are sleeping in, make their way to the mall.
