'Brazen Murder' Suspects Caught On Surveillance Identified

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Police have identified two suspects in a deadly shooting that occurred near Lexington Market around 1 p.m. Monday.

"They are known to law enforcement," Commissioner Kevin Davis said. "They are violent repeat offenders."

Derrick Charles Jackson, Jr. and Vincent Jamar Barefoot, both 24 years old, are wanted on first degree murder and related charges.

Police say surveillance video captured the men fleeing the scene of what Davis called a "1 o'clock in the afternoon brazen murder."

An officer administered CPR to the victim, 23-year-old Tayvon Rashard Cokley, who they found after hearing gunshots while on patrol.

He was transported to Shock Trauma, where he died.

Cokley had just left a local hospital after visiting a family member who was the victim of another violent crime, spokesman T.J. Smith says.

A motive is not known, though "it appears it could be robbery-related," according to Smith.
