Ravens Practice Was Full Of Emotion From Players Like Smith, Suggs

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Word got out that Ravens WR Steve Smith threw a tantrum during practice on Thursday, but LB Terrell Suggs defended the emotions while talking to the media.

Smith threw his helmet on the ground in the first hour of practice after Joe Flacco overthrew Smith on consecutive deep passes along the sideline. He also kicked a football that was on the ground then walked off the field to the corner of the indoor facility and sat by himself.

"According to you guys, you already know," he said. "Why am I going to comment if you already know? ... I don't have to explain anything to you. I can choose to do what I want to," Smith told ESPN.

When Suggs spoke to the media he said, "You have to understand, we're all a little messed up. It was an emotional loss (at New England). We really wanted that one. We're just a little edgy. But I think it's good to be a little edgy in December."

Steve Smith needs just three more yards to pass Marvin Harrison (14,580) for seventh on NFL career list.

Harbaugh was also rather emotional when he spoke to the players at the end of practice telling them to "leave it all out on the field Sunday."
