Md. Natural Resources Police Investigates Boat Explosion at Yacht Club

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The Maryland Natural Resources Police are investigating a boat fire that happened at the Solomon's Yacht Center Thursday night.

Around 7:34 p.m., authorities responded to the yacht center and learned two men were on board of a boat when it exploded during refueling.

Police say the father refused treatment and was not injured while his son, Michael Shawn Franz, 38, of Westminster, sustained second-degree burns and was transported to a local hospital.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.
