D.C. Residents To Have 3rd Gender Option On Driver's Licenses, IDs

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- D.C.'s Department of Motor Vehicles will soon allow residents to choose a gender neutral identifier on their driver's licenses and ID cards.

The gender non-binary will be identified by a "X" marker.

The change was announced June 20 by Mayor Muriel Bowser's Office of LGBTQ Affairs.

June is LGBT Pride Month.
