Sen. Warren Endorses Jealous For Maryland Governor

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren has endorsed former NAACP president Ben Jealous in his run for governor of Maryland.

In a statement released Friday by the campaign, Warren calls Jealous a civil rights leader and businessman who will "build an inclusive economy" for working families and fight back against what she calls "Donald Trump's extreme agenda."

Jealous won the Democratic nomination last month to challenge Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, who's seeking a second term.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and senators Cory Booker, Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders have also endorsed Jealous.

Hogan this week received the endorsement of the State Law Enforcement Officers Labor Alliance, which represents 1,800 officers. Four years ago, the group backed Democratic candidate Anthony Brown.
