Woman Hospitalized For Dog Attack Injuries

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A woman has been taken to the hospital with dog bites Wednesday afternoon.

Baltimore Police Department received a call at 3:54 p.m., and requested that animal control respond to the scene. The owner of the dogs remained at the scene as well.

One by one, four dogs Baltimore fire officials have identified as pit bulls were caught and loaded up by animal control. Authorities said four of the five pitbulls were responsible for attacking the woman in the neighborhood Wednesday.

"It was pretty violent," said one witness who did not want to be identified.

The witness said the unidentified woman was walking her dog before the pit bulls lunged after them both.

"Both of her arms were bit. The dog was still being attacked by two other dogs," She said.

Witnesses said despite the fence around the home, the dogs have been known in the past to find a way out.

One witness who wished to stay unidentified said she saw people driving by stopping to get out of their cars to help the woman and the dog fight off the attack, using things including baseball bats and even a vacuum cleaner to help.

Baltimore police said the woman was taken to a hospital and the owner stayed on the scene.

WJZ reached out for a comment, but there was no answer at the door. The woman's dog was reportedly rushed to a vet's office.

Her condition is currently unknown.
