Suspect Charged In Frederick Douglass High School Shooting And 2018 Murder
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The suspect in the Friday afternoon shooting at Frederick Douglass High School has been charged for that, and his connection to 2018 murder.
City Police said that 25-year-old Neil Davis tried to enter the school in the 2300 block of Gwynns Falls Pkwy. around 12 p.m. but encountered 56-year-old Michael Marks, a special education assistant inside the school lobby.
That's when officers said Davis pulled his gun out during an argument and shot Marks in the lower torso.
Davis was quickly taken into custody by members of the Baltimore City School Police Department who were working inside the school at the time of the shooting.
After detectives took control of the investigation, Davis was subsequently charged with attempted first-degree murder and related firearms violations.
As a result of Friday's events, additional evidence was found linking Davis to murder on Nov. 10, 2018.
Man Dies In North Baltimore Shooting
Officers were called to the 4600 block of York Rd. at 2:51 p.m. for a reported shooting.
When police arrived, they found 25-year-old Darelle Yancey suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Yancey was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Davis is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility awaiting a bail hearing.
