BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Thursday night is the NBA draft, and one University of Maryland player hopes to hear his name come off the board early.

Bruno Fernando had an outstanding sophomore year for the Terps, helping lead them to the NCAA Tournament.

Fernando is trying to become the first Angolan to play in the NBA.

The draft begins Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Barclays Center in New York City.
