MILFORD MILL, Md. (WJZ) — Baltimore County Police believe that the body found Saturday in the 2300 block of Hollins Street is the body of missing Charla Melvin.

Police said that a woman’s body was found at around 11:10 a.m. and was wrapped in blankets and plastic.

Melvin had been reported missing by her family on Sept. 9.

Police suspected that Melvin was the victim of foul play after her cousin, Thomas Davis, Jr.’s body was found on September 10, in Baltimore City.

“We continue to look at what the MO was leading up to the homicide,” Baltimore County Police Corporal Sean Vinson said. “But at this point, we do have evidence that there was some type of conflict between the cousin and Ms. Melvin.”

Baltimore Police determined that Davis committed suicide.

Melvin’s car, a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is still missing, according to police. It was last spotted in west Baltimore.

Police ask that people lookout for the car with Maryland tags 3CR7429.

Sunday, Melvin’s family and friends gathered for a vigil to remember their devoted mother and grandmother.

“She was very small in stature, but her spirit was very tall,” Dena Fisher, Melvin’s cousin, said.

Family and friends said that Melvin inspired everyone around her.

“She was always that bright light,” Fisher said.

Anyone with information in regard to this case is asked to contact police immediately.
