BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Robocalls are on the rise in the United States, and it’s especially bad in Maryland.

Nearly half the calls made from U.S. cell phones in 2019 were spam according to a report from Provision Living using data from the Federal Communications Commission.

And Maryland was the seventh hardest-hit state in 2019.

Maryland residents filed more than 130,000 complaints with the Federal Trade Commission.
