Officials: 22 People In Maryland Have Died Due To Cold This Season

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Three more people died due to the cold this week in Maryland, bringing the state's seasonal total to nearly two dozen.

The three latest deaths were all men 65 years old or older; they died in Baltimore, Montgomery and Charles counties.

In total, 22 people have died because of cold weather during the 2019-2020 reporting period; eight of the victims were suspected to be homeless.

During the 2018-2019 reporting period, 51 people died from the cold, officials said.
