BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Business is booming at the Port of Baltimore.

Officials said the nearly 500-year-old port recorded another record-breaking year in 2019 with 43.6 million tons of cargo and containers making their way through its terminals.

That’s including more than 11 million tons of general cargo for the first time ever.

The port also handled more than 850,000 vehicles last year making it the top-ranked port in the U.S. for the ninth consecutive year.
