Authorities said the body has "some sort of trauma to it" but couldn't elaborate further.

Officer Jennifer Peach from the Baltimore County Police addressed the media at the scene.

"The body has some sort of trauma to it. It's too early for us to say how that trauma was caused," she said.

There's a feeling of uneasiness when walking by the trail. Rick Moore has lived in the neighborhood for 14 years.

"A friend of mine texted me a message about it and it really was shocking because we take our dog down that trail all the time," Moore said.

People gathered along the quiet neighborhood as Maryland Natural Resources arrived on scene.

Chelsea Elliott lives nearby.

"Nothing really bad happens in this neighborhood usually so when I heard there was a dead body next to my house, I thought it was a joke," Elliott said.

Elliott's close friend, Anna, said the incident is concerning.

"It could be anybody because it's right next to my best friends house. What if she was back there or got hurt," she said.

Police tell WJZ they'll be investigating sectional zones along the trail because it's so close to the Reservoir. The victim hasn't been identified.
