Multiple Streets In Downtown Baltimore Closed Temporarily Saturday Afternoon, Charm City Circulator Detours Service

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Drivers, be prepared to make some changes to your route Saturday afternoon. Multiple streets in downtown Baltimore are closed starting at noon.

On Friday the Baltimore City Department of Transportation announced the southbound portion of the Jones Falls Expressway would close at 2 p.m. Saturday and would reopen when downtown activities concluded.

Saturday morning, they announced additional road closures in downtown Baltimore.

In addition, the following roadways will also be closed on Saturday, June 6, 2020 starting at 12:00 noon:

  • President Street at Fayette Street (west side of intersection)
  • Gay Street at Water Street (stopping northbound traffic)
  • Commerce/Holliday Street at Water Street (stopping northbound traffic)
  • Baltimore Street at Guilford/South Street (stopping eastbound traffic)
  • Lexington Street at Calvert Street (stopping eastbound traffic)
  • Saratoga Street at Guilford Avenue (stopping southbound traffic)
  • Saratoga Street at Holliday Street (stopping southbound traffic)

They did not say if those streets would reopen on the same guidelines.

Charm City Circulator routes are also being detoured due to the road closures downtown.

Charm City Circulator Detours are as follow:

Purple Route:  Starting at 2:00 p.m., the Southbound Purple Route will not run south of Centre Street.  Coming south from 33rd Street, the Purple will come down St. Paul and make a right on Maddison Street (stop 324).  It will then make a right on Charles Street and continue back up to 33rd street.  This will be the route (loop) for the remainder of the day unless otherwise notified.

Banner Rote:  Starting at 2:00 p.m., the Northbound Banner Route will not run north of Conway Street.  The Northbound Banner route will come off Key Hwy and make a left on Lee Street.  It will then turn right on Charles Street and make another right on Conway Street (stop 419).  It will then make a right on Light Street and continue its route. This will be the route (loop) for the remainder of the day unless otherwise notified.

Orange Route: Starting at 2:00 p.m., the Eastbound Orange Route will not run east of Greene Street. The Eastbound Orange will make a right off Baltimore onto Green Street (stop 216) and then a left on Lombard Street (stop 217).  It will then make a right on MLK and a left on Baltimore and continue its route. This will be the route (loop) for the remainder of the day unless otherwise notified.

Green Route: Starting at 2:00 p.m. the Green Route will not go west of Caroline Street. Coming Southbound on Broadway Ave, the Green Route will make a right on Fleet Street. It will then make a left on Caroline Street headed south and make a right on the Point Street slip lane. It will then make a left on Thames Street and left back on Caroline Street. The bus will then come back up to Fleet where it will make a right on Fleet Street (stop 120) and a left on Broadway Ave. This will be the route (loop) for the remainder of the day unless otherwise notified.
