At Least A Dozen Vehicles Catch Fire At Vacant Car Lot In East Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Fire officials are investigating after at least a dozen cars caught on fire at a vacant car lot in east Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon.

Chopper 13 was over the scene on Quad Avenue near I-95. Thick, black smoke could seen throughout the area.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The MDTA, however, said that the ramp to southbound I-95 from Moravia Road is closed and will remain shut down overnight.

Drivers in the area are asked to take southbound I-895 to Lombard Street or Pulaski Highway to Erdman avenue as a detour.

No word yet on what caused the fires.
