ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) — School resource police officers will remain inside Howard County schools following a school board vote on Thursday night.

The student member of the school board called for a vote on the issue, which failed in a 4-2 vote.

All 12 public high schools have officers, while six officers split time between 12 middle schools. Elementary schools in Howard County do not have officers.
