US Mint Recognizes Maryland In New Dollar Coins
MARYLAND (WJZ) -- The U.S. Mint is now recognizing Maryland in new $1 coins.
The state is one of four represented in the first batch of $1 coins celebrating American ingenuity.
The Maryland coin recognizes the Hubble Space Telescope, whose mission operations team is based at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt.
Connecticut, Massachusetts and South Carolina are also represented in the "American Innovation" set, which goes on sale starting Thursday at noon.
