BGE Says Thousands Lost Power Sunday Night As Storms Moved Through Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- As storms moved throughout Maryland Sunday night, some people experienced losses of power.

A total of 12,000 customers were affected as of 8:10 p.m.

That number dropped steadily to 9,532 by 9:10 p.m., and down to 9,069 by 9:20 p.m.

As of 11:07 p.m., there were still 6,546 customers without power, according to BGE.

This comes as heavy rain moved throughout the state, with strong winds coming through as well.

There was a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for most parts of the state, and a severe thunderstorm warning for areas across the state earlier Sunday.
