Baltimore City's Dollar Or Less Days Canceled For 2020

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Downtown Partnership announced that Dollar or Less Days will not happen in 2020, due to concerns about crowd sizes during the pandemic.

The event usually has several of region's attractions offer admission for a dollar or less, so families and visitors can visit museums at an affordable price.

This can mean long lines around attractions such as the National Aquarium, Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Port Discovery, and Maryland Science Center. Organizers at Downtown Partnership said they were concerned that number of people would overwhelm social distancing and other COVID-19 safety measures.

"Losing Dollar or Less Days will be disappointing to the many families who take advantage of the free admission," Downtown Partnership President Shelonda Stokes said. "Given how our museums and attractions are struggling with lower attendance and lost admission revenue in 2020, it would be a gift for people to plan to attend on their own this season if they can afford to."

Some attractions are open at reduced capacity in-person or virtually this season.
