WASHINGTON (WJZ) — U.S. Park Police are about to make history.

When Pamela Smith takes the reigns as the new Chief on Sunday, she will become the first Black woman to lead the force.

Among her first orders of business, establish a body-worn camera program.

The 23-year-veteran of the force said while she is the first Black woman to assume the role, she hopes she will not be the last.
